Cable Bicep Curl Step-by-Step Guide And Tutorial

I'm gonna cover exactly how to do a cable biceps curl the proper way to get the most bang for your buck out of this awesome exercise. We're going to cover some fine form points and you're going to know about a couple of wraps.

Alright, so to start this exercise, we have the cable loaded here and I like to take a little bit of a wider athletic stance when gripping the cable. And this is just a principle of all good curling is you want to have a good upright posture and keep that core tight. And I'm squeezing the cable handles really hard, which is actually a really overlooked part of all biceps training. You want to squeeze hard and we're going to curl up. Because of the nature of the straight cable, your arms are not going to be able to, your wrist is not going to be able to supinate.

Or move inwards. It's going to be in this constant tension. So the key point here is that you want to be very slow and controlled with this motion.

And right back down. You want to be slow and controlled. Feel that biceps contract at the peak, hold it for a second, and come right back down, nice and slow. And at the bottom, get that full stretch before curling right back up. And this is the cable curl. There's really not too much you can screw up with this, but the key is, is picking a weight that's light enough that you can really feel the contraction. And I'd like to pick your weight where you can do at least 10 to 15 of these because this is a really good exercise.

It's working so make sure you get that good squeeze at the top and that my friend, is how you do a cable curl. If you like some more tips and other great exercises for your biceps, and your triceps, make sure to check out our website Really great tips over there.
